This section is dedicated to the people who made this band possible, the people who put their whole heart and soul into this music. The rockers who weren’t afraid of breaking past the existing borders of music and then shaping and adding to it, making it into something entirely their own. Every single component of our sound has a piece of them inside. To every band member this section is dedicated to all of you!

Lead Guitar and Vocals-Benjamin Brothers

He is most passionate about music, which he dedicates most of the entirety of his spare time to. His favorite thing to do is to write songs and compose music, especially with the other members of Hello Awkward as well as spending time with friends and family! The creation of this website meant so much to us, and he would like to give thanks personally to everyone for supporting us and keeping our band alive, which includes you! Some of his favorite bands are The Wonder Stuff, Meat Puppets, Skin Yard, Sleeper, Portishead, Led Zeppelin, Wipers, Sun Ra And His Arkestra, Windy & Carl, Deafheaven, Cowboy Junkies, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Posies among others. Drums -Andrew Whang

Andrew is the backbone of the band, a great drummer and improviser, his passion inspires others and brings the whole band together. Andrew was born on February 12, 2009 in Orange County California to a Korean-American family. In 2010 he moved to Davis with his family and lived there ever since. He played violin and clarinet throughout elementary school, but he then discovered his passion for the drums in March 2020 he knew he found his instrument. He’s played for a little over 2 years. He became the second member to join the band. He’s the reason why we ever formed. Andrew Whang in 2022-“I joined when Benjamin wanted to start a band with some of his friends at DaVinci (our middle school) including me. I met Benjamin at a summer camp in first grade and we’ve been friends since then. Last year I met Cruz through Benjamin and that’s also how I met Rhoads. I met Taylor when she came to practice at Rock Band University last summer and I met Atticus the same way. My favorite bands are The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Green Day, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Coldplay. Some of my favorite songs include Come Together by the Beatles, Yellow by Coldplay, Iron Man by Black Sabbath, Longview by Green Day, Lithium by Nirvana, Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Love Me Do by The Beatles.”

Rhythm Guitar and vocals-Taylor Bispo

She used to play rhythm guitar in Hello Awkward and she’s a fantastic experimental guitarist who can freely improvise just about anything. She’s also the “guitar shredder” among us! Taylor in 2022-”I play rhythm guitar in Hello Awkward. I’ve always said to myself, I wonder what it’s like to be in a band, and now I’m in a band and know what it’s like. My favorite genres of music are rock and metal. I also love robots and engineering. And I want to be an engineer some day!” Her memory in the band will live with us forever as her spirit and contributions were greatly appreciated!
